Rumour (formerly Tabu) is the booth club at 1 Dover Street, in the heart of Mayfair between Piccadilly and Grafton Street, open Wednesday to Saturday from 11pm to 4am. The Tabu name has gone: same ownership, a full rebrand, a new design and a new concept. It is one intimate room of around 200, built around booths in deep red velvet, with dark panelling, a chandelier and low warm lighting, and it fills early by design. The music is open format, hip hop, RnB and house, read to the room on the night. Green Park station is a few minutes away, Piccadilly Circus and Bond Street are walkable, and Dear Darling, Maddox and Tape London are a short walk if the night moves on.

What to Expect

One room, booths all round and a dance floor that fills early. Ladies come in on the guestlist, free to £20 on the door depending on the night and how busy it is; men are not added to the guestlist, so men and mixed groups come in on a booth. Booths start from £1,000 minimum spend and cover entry for the whole group: across eight people that is roughly £125 each, spent on drinks. The venue presents itself as a members' club; we book tables and guestlist for non-members, and the 200-capacity room suits private hire and corporate takeovers, with terms on request.

Dress Code

Smart and dressed up. Heels for ladies and a considered look for men. No sportswear and no fancy dress; trainers are at the door's discretion.

Entry is 18+ with photo ID. Heels are the norm for ladies; men should look considered rather than casual.
